Kasirye, Muraya excel at June Golf Orange / Castlelite mug of mugs tourney

June Orange / Castle lite June Mug of Mugs:

Overall Winner: Ronnie Kasirye – 85 Gross (69 Nett) – H/C 16

Ladies’ Winner: Nancy Muraya – 102 Gross (69 Nett) – H/C 33

Ronnie Kasirye, handicap 16, playing in group B scored 43 and 42 strokes from  the first and second nine of the par 71 Entebbe Golf course to claim the overall prize at the June Orange/Castle lite mug of mugs on Saturday.

“It was just like any other ordinary day out on the course. I played my game to perfection to enjoy. Winning is therefore a bonus”, Kasirye told Kawowo Sports at the 19^th hole, shortly after collecting his prize from Justice Katusi, the chief guest.

Handicap 33 lady golfer, Nancy Muraya returned to the club house with scores of 102 gross to take the best ladies’ prize.

Muraya who carded 52 strokes in the first nine before scoring 50 in the final nine, beat off Jayne Thomas by 2 strokes.

Thomas scored 100 gross (71 nett) to take the second position.

The overall leaderboard now has Patrick Oyee at the top. Oyee took advantage of leader, Moses Ssebugwawo’s lapse to climb top.

Oyee, handicap 12 scored 91 gross (79 nett) to take over.

95 golfers took part of the day long event organized by Entebbe Golf Club and bankrolled by communication company, Orange Telecom with Nile Brewries Limited, under the brand, Castle lite lager.

Action at the Lake side golf course now shifts to next month’s upcoming Bro Group event.
