Three first half goals were enough to book Uganda into the next qualifying round of the CAF youth U17 preliminary qualifiers where they will meet Rwanda.

Uganda set the ball rolling as early as the fourth minute, when Charles Sebutinde connected with his head to convert skipper Andrew Isiagi’s cross.

Seychelles conceded an own goal on the seventeenth minute after Alex Komaketch twisted and turned the visitors defense from the left.

It was Emmanuel Olinga who scored the goal of the match, a 25 yard screamer that found the Seychelles Goalkeeper out of position.

The start of the second half saw two penalties but none could be converted. Alex Komaketch converted his but it had to be retaken, he hit the woodwork.

A minute later Uganda’s custodian Eric Kibowa fouled in the forbidden area but saved the penalty to keep the game out of reach for the visitors.

Uganda advanced with a 5-1 scoreline aggregate and will play Rwanda on July 18 before the return leg in two weeks time.
