Reigning FUFA Super league Champions, Kampala City Council (KCC) football have completed the signing of goal keeper, Ashadu Bugembe on a three year deal worth Ug.shs 10M.
The development follows 2 weeks of secretive negotiations with the player, whose contract at Kira Young f.c expired at the close of last season.
“I am so happy to join KCC f.c, I will maintain working hard for the number one status at the club”, a visibly excited Bugembe told Kawowo Sports on Sunday.
Bugembe, 25 wishes to utilize the opportunity at KCC as a stepping stone to unleash a professional ambition.
“Playing for the league Champions, KCC is a dream come true. I will keep in fine shape as I look forward to playing in a top European club in 3 years time”, he added.
Bugembe whose specialty at shot stopping and defence command caught the eyes of KCC has signed a 3 year deal with a gross salary of 1M per month minus allowances.
KCC has been in a chase for a goal keeper after releasing Nicolas Ssebwato while third choice goal keeper, Emmanuel Opio’s contract expired at the end of the season.
First choice goalie, Jamal Salim was exported to El Merriekh f.c for a reported $ 40,000 deal.
Former Buddo s.s goal keeper, Bob Agandu is the next likely target for the goal keeping department at KCC after talks with Vipers’ and Cranes goalie, Ismail Watenga hit a snag.
Bugembe becomes the first official signing for the club ahead of the 2014/15 football season.
Cranes and Kira Young defender, Richard Kassaga is in talks with the club for a possible loan deal.
Brian Omony, Brian Nkuubi and Owen Kasule are the other players in talks with KCC, who will represent Uganda at next season’s CAF champion’s league.
