National golfer Willy Deus Kitata, will this morning tee off at the Lotos Polish Open at the Sand Valley and Country Club in Paslek,Poland as he seeks to gain valuable success and experience on his European tour.
The Entebbe based golfer is on a mission to break into the European pro circuit, but his attempts to break into the circuit proved to be futile a week ago when he failed to make the cut at the Praforst pro golf tour in Germany.
“My intention is to break onto the Pro Golf circuit and it’s through this that I hope to do so,” Kitata said. “I believe I can make it, but I have to make the cut and see how it goes however if it doesn’t happen I will be glad to gain the necessary experience which will in the long run improve my game.”
The Uganda Sports Press Association Golfer of the year is among the 16 amateur golfers playing in this prestigious Pro-Am golf tournament in Poland. He is the only African amateur player playing in the tournament however their is a Moroccan professional playing in the pros.
He will conclude his tour by playing in the Augsburg Classic from August 11-13 in Germany. He will not defend his Onito Memorial crown at the Jinja club next month and the JBG golf tournament in Entebbe.
