At least U.shs 100M was collected by the close of business at the Ibanda Hospital Golf fundraising tourney played at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante on Friday.
Over 80 golfers took to the field with a common mission at hand to solicit U.shs 65M for the purchase of a blood chemistry machine (Humaster) for Ibanda Hospital.
“We are glad for this contribution from the golfing fraternity. We appreciate every individual’s effort towards this noble cause of saving lives through purchase of a blood chemistry machine”, Dr John Mpuuga of Ibanda hospital remarked.
Winners:
Francis Kazinduzi played 42 stable ford points to clinch the overall individual winners’ gong in the male catergory while Brenda Ngabo (with 38 points) took the women’s top individual accolade.
“It was a fantastic round of golf with colleagues as we were fundraising for Ibanda Hospital”, Kazinduzi remarked at the 19th hole.
Of the several companies that participated in the event, Tian Tang II was the best overall collecting 109 points.
Simba Telecom and Ferdsult Engineering were the runners up and second runners up with 108 and 107 points respectively.
Other companies that participated were; Nyabuhikye, At Augustine University, Innscor, China Habour Engineering, Uganda Breweries Limited, LEA, China Railway, Arab Consulting, Gauff, MOTT, CINOC, CCCCI, Energo, Crown Beverages, Collin Construction, Wondersoft, Case Medical Centre, MSL and SBL.
