CAF Confederation Cup results (Group B)
Nkana (Zambia) 4-3 Etoile Sahel (Tunisia)
Al Ahly (Egypt) 1-0 Sewe Sport (Ivory Coast)

Tony Odur’s new club, Nkana FC could face CAF fine following its dramatic win over Egyptian team Etoile Sahel yesterday.

In a-2014 CAF Confederation cup game played at Nkana stadium in Kitwe province in Zambia, the hosts beat Etoile 4-3.

But the encounter that Odur watched in pavilion (cup tied), ended in a controversial fashion after Zambian sports minister Chishimba Kambwili stormed the pitch at full-time and confronted the referee.

Reports indicate that CAF referee Tessema Weyesa of Ethiopia awarded the visitors two penalties.

However, “it was the last penalty deep into injury converted by Youssef Mouihidi that upset the home fans and sports minister Chishimba Kambwili, who stormed the pitch after the match to confront Weyesa”. A post-match report on supersport.com reads.

Weyesa was saved by Zambian state police and escorted to the dressing room, but not before he was showered with beer and missiles as he headed into the tunnel as mayhem ensued, but luckily no one was injured.

It’s now so thoughtful that Weyesa included the incidences in his match report that could cause Nkana troubles if CAF disciplinary committee reacts negatively.

Meanwhile Nkana goals came from Ronald Kampamba on 7 minutes, Festus Mbewe (26’), Simon Bwalya (48’) and Christopher Munthali (56’).

While Mouihidi netted for Etoile from the spot in the fourth minute of first half. Sofiane Moussa scored on 29th minute before referee Weyesa brought misery upon himself when he awarded Etoile a penalty that Mouihidi duly converted to complete his brace on the day.

Elsewhere, Al Ahly defeated Sewe Sport 1-0 on Saturday night, thanks to Walid Soliman’s nice taken penalty on 4th minute of the game played at Defence Stadium in Cairo.

Despite the loss, Etoile solidified their 2nd position of Group B with five points, three points below table leader Al Ahly. Nkana is 3rd with four points, one point above bottomed Sewe Sport..

The top two teams from this group will join their counterparts of Group A to advance on next round.
