There is a looming big club versus country war for Uganda Cranes players, Dennis Onyango, winger Moses Oloya and Geofrey Massa, Kawowo Sports has reliably learnt.

“We received communication from Onyango and Massa’s clubs about the reluctance to release the players for the Cranes games but we are doing everything possible to have the players with us”, Micho told Kawowo Sports at Njeru technical center on Monday.

The Onyango and Massa are currently in South Africa with their clubs preparing for the new season while Oloya’s team in Vietnam is playing in the domestic Cup competition.

Plan B:

Should the three players fail to make it, Micho has already outlined his plan B.

“We have able replacements for the players but we are doing everything possible by engaging the clubs and showing them our position”, Micho added.

With the final traveling team most definitely to take shape by Wednesday, Uganda departs on Thursday morning with a stop over in Senegal.

Iceland based professional, Tonny Mawejje and Portugese based winger, Luwagga Kizito are expected to join up with the rest in Senegal.

Uganda leads by a 2 goal advantage from the first leg.

Massa scored Uganda’s second goal against Mauritania after Brian Majwega’s opener during the first leg played at Namboole National Stadium in Kampala.

The team is camping at Nile Resort hotel in Jinja town.

Khaldi Aucho, Allan Kyambadde, Geofrey ‘Baba’ Kizito, Faruku Miya and Brian Majwega.

Robert Ssentongo, Dan Sserunkuma, Brian Umony and Hamis ‘Diego’ Kizza
