With three days to kick off the championship, Uganda’s representatives at the forthcoming Kagame Cup KCC FC have released the squad for the tournament.
The squad has two custodians both of which are new acquisitions, six defenders including Richard Kasagga who is on loan from Kiira Young, eight midfielders and four strikers.
Nine of the 20 man squad are new acquisitions who among others include ex-URA FC and SC Villa custodian Yasin Mugabi, former Express FC midfielder Rogers Lukwiya and prodigal son Brian Umony who returns to the club after Tanzania’s outfit Azam FC didn’t renew his contract.
According to club Vice Chairman Allan Ssewanyana, the team leaves for Kigali on Wednesday aboard Rwanda Air.
Besides the players, ten officials including the technical staff will also be part of the team in Kigali.
KCC FC whose last and only championship triumph in the Kagame Cup came in 1978 open their campaign against KPL champions Gor Mahia on Friday at Amahoro stadium, Kigali.
KCC FC is in pool B together with Gor Mahia, Rwanda’s APR FC, Burundi’s Atletico and Telecom of Djibouti.
FUFA Vice President technical Hamid Juma is the leader of delegation.

Goalkeepers: Yasin Mugabi & Martin Elungati
Defenders: Ssaka Mpiima (C), Habib Kavuma, Simon Namwanja, Ronald Kisekka, Ayub Kizza and Richard Kasagga.
Midfielders: Rogers Lukwiya, Daniel Isiagi, Tom Masiko, Brian Majwega, Owen Kasule, Steven Bengo, Francis Ssembatya and Hakim Ssenkumba.
Forwards: Brian Umony, Derrick Nsibambi, William Wadri and Herman Wasswa.
