Jinja Club artisan golfer, Grace Kasango is the overall gross winner at the 8th Castle lite Onito Memorial Golf Tournament played at the source of the Nile River par 70 course in Jinja district.

The towering golfer, playing off handicap 5 held onto an opening 5 strokes lead from day one to clinch his maiden career championship title with a 9 over par 149 total gross score in two days.

“I am so excited after winning my first golf overall winners’ title”, Kasango, 19, told Kawowo sports.

Eagle Shot:

Many golfers dream of hitting an eagle at least once  in a life time. Kasango used the Onito Memorial plat form to execute the rare feat.

The first year BBA student of marketing at MUBS (Jinja branch) hit an eagle on hole 3 during day two of action.

Uganda Golf Club golfers, Joseph Mawejje and Abbey Bagalana finished second and third respectively.

Another Jinja based golfer, Fred Wanzala has won the professional category beating 15 other golfers.

Winner last year, Deo Akope has finished second with Entebbe Green keeper, George Olayo taking third place.

The subsidiary group tees off Saturday morning.
