Tony Mawejje’s efforts were not enough to help his Valur team overcome V Fram in one of the four games played in the Iceland league on Monday at Reykjavik stadium.
The Cranes’ lad played full time but Jonsson Olafur’s strike in the 63rd minute was enough for the hosts to secure three points.
Valur put three shots on target but FK’s custodian Vann was more alert to save his side.
In the other match, Ugandan international goalkeeper Abel Dhaira also featured in IBV’s 1-1 draw against table leaders FH Hafnarfjardar on Sunday.
The game that was played before 2,050 fans at Vestmannaeyjar stadium saw Jonathan Ricardo Glenn restoring parity for IBV in the 43rd minute as Steven Lenneon had put the visitors in lead with a goal in the 33rd minute.
In the other matches in same league, KR defeated Keflavic 2-0; Stjarna also beat Thor 2-1 while, Fjolnir drew 1-1 against Bredablik.
After week 15 of play, FH Hafnarfjardar leads the table with 32 points, Valur in 5th has 21 points whilst eleventh IBV has 14 points, 5 points above bottomed Thor.
The league continues this weekend with many games on card.
