APR FC midfielder Charles ‘Pojey’ Tibingana who side is already through to the quarter finals of the 2014 Kagame Cup is adamant his side is ready for any opponent but wishes they don’t meet a fellow Rwanda side at the stage.
The army side is in line to face either Rayon Sport or Tanzania’s Azam FC depending on how the remaining fixtures in group A and their game against KCC FC finishes.
“We are ready for any opponent but would wish we avoid Rwanda sides in the next stage,” Tibingana told Kawowo Sports.
“Maybe in the semis at earliest but we shall have to negotiate whoever comes our way,” he added.
APR FC sit top of group B with seven points after snatching a late equaliser to share spoils with Kenya’s Gor Mahia FC and need a similar result against Ugandan champions KCC FC to finish at the top of the group something Tibingana says is their mission.
“Our goal is to finish top of the group and that implies beating or at worst drawing with KCC FC,” the ex-Proline FC and SC Victoria University midfielder stressed.
If Rayon Sport tops group A and APR FC lose to KCC FC, the two local sides will clash in the last eight match slated for next Tuesday at Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyamirambo.
