Former world football star Zinedine Zidane is expected to pay a visit to East Africa this month, Kawowo Sports has reliably learnt.

The ex French captain will lead a group of Real Madrid legends for a special match against a select Tanzania XI side on August 23 in Dar es Salaam,  africanfootball.com posted on Tuesday morning.

Tanzania Sisi Nyumbani (TSN), the organizers of the match confirmed that they expect a 25-member squad of the Madrid legends to arrive in the country on August 22 for a special friendly match, africanfootball.com quoted Deniss Ssebo, an official from the TSN.

The expected legends include Luis Figo, Michael Owen, Fernando Morientes, Fabio Cannavaro, Fernando Hierro, Reuben De la Red and Christian Karembeu.

Others include Michel Salgado, Steve McMannaman, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez and Fernando Redondo.

The Madrid legends are also likely to visit various tourist sites in Tanzania, including Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Mount Kilimanjaro.

“We hope this visit will be successful and also teach our people a few things,” added Ssebo.

Ssebo explained that because of the many tourism aspects in Tanzania and the love for football, the Madrid legends have found it necessary to make the trip to the East African nation.
