Uganda National Golf captain, Phillip Kasozi has backed his charges towards dethroning Kenya at the ongoing East African Golf Challenge.

“We have been in camp for almost 3 weeks, training at this very course. This is a great impetus towards winning this championship”, Kasozi said.

Kasozi will skipper the team that also has 3 players – Henry Lujjah, Peter Ssendaula and Robert Oluba, whose local knowledge of the course is another added advantage.

The other members on the team coached by Amos Kamya are Ronald Otile, Ronald Bukenya, Ronald Rugumayo, Robert Happy and Adolf Muhumuza.

The 3 day championship officially started on Thursday with a practice round of action for all the 6 teams in action.

Defending Champions, Kenya boast of an incredible team captained by the vastly experienced Nelson Simwa, and the coach who is a Kenyan professional Anil Shah.

Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and Tanzania. The official opening ceremony took place on Thursday evening with the flag raising ceremony.

The final day on action will be Sunday with the singles, followed by the official prize giving ceremony at the 19th hole of Entebbe Golf course.
