Emmanuel Okwi’s move to former club Simba SC has hit a snag after Young Africans claim the player is still contracted with them and thus wants him banned from football activities in Tanzania.

Simba unveiled the Uganda Cranes striker on Thursday with the player claiming that Yanga had ditched him by cancelling his contract but the club chairman Yusuf Manji says otherwise in a press conference held a day later.

“It’s Yanga who ditched me by cancelling my contract,” Okwi told Kawowo Sports claims which Manji say are lies.

“As of today, Okwi is still a Yanga player because he still has a contract which has not been rescinded,”

“Okwi’s claims that we had given him a letter to terminate his contract are a big lie,”

“In fact we have already submitted his name to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) in the list of foreign players for next season’s Mainland Premier League,” Manji is quoted by www.dailynews.co.tz.

The Jangwani Street based club has given TFF seven days to resolve the issue by sanctioning a ban on Okwi and also demand compensation worth $ 500,000 from Simba SC. They also promised to take the matter to FIFA incase TFF doesn’t act on time to resolve the issue.
