Build Up Game:
Uganda Cubs 0 – 1 Bul f.c

After losing 1 – 0 to FUFA Super league side, Bul f.c on Monday, Uganda U-17 head coach, Matial Lule was left with plenty of positives after the gallant display from the youngsters.

“I am impressed by the way the young boys put up a spirited performance, stretching a FUFA Super league side to the limit. We have learnt alot of things”, Lule said after the build up game played at Njeru Technical center.

This was the second friendly game for the Uganda U-17 team in a space of 3 days.

The Jinja side needed a late Tito Okello strike that saved them an embarrassment against the determined U-17 stars, who missed striker Muhammed Shaban, just recovering from illness.

Earlier on Saturday, the Cubs whipped Gaba based side, Tranova f.c 5 – 1.

“We are still polishing on speed, agility and keeping possession jealously.Playing against mature players exposes these youngsters to several checks and tests”, Lule remarked.

Uganda Cubs will play their last build up game against Ex Internationals in the coming week before travelling to Zambia for the CAF U-17 championship first leg qualifier in Lusaka.

The winner over the two legs will qualify for next year’s continental show piece in Niger where the 4 semi finalists make it for the FIFA U-17 World cup in Chile.
