National Beach Soccer defending champions, Kiira Young and Elite Club have been disqualified from parting in this year’s top tier.
The reigning champions were banned following their refusal to honor their opening fixture against Nkumba Select that was scheduled a fortnight ago.
Kiira Young is also said to have been punished for not registering for the 2014/15 season as mandated to all clubs in the elite tier.
In a communication sent to the club and the beach soccer stakeholders, the Beach Soccer Competitions Committee refereed to Article 32 & 2 Section G and M respectively of the Beach Soccer rules and took a decision to disqualify Kira Young and Elites Club from the Pepsi Beach Soccer League season 2014/2015, fufa.co.ug revealed yesterday.
Kiira Young have been given until 19th September, 2014 to return the trophy in their possession.
The two prohibited clubs were however replaced with International University of East Africa and Mutesa I Royal University respectively, hence leaving the league’s scheduled fixtures unchanged except the inclusion of new teams.
