He is probably the tallest golfer on the course and he hits the ball hard and far, he is Dennis Anguyo, who is a professional golfer at the Uganda Golf Club, Kitante.

Anguyo, who finished third in the lucrative Tusker Malt Uganda Open Golf Championship wants to end the year on a high as he prepares to attack the grand KCB Golf Series Final in Mombasa from 23-26 September.

“I will be taking part in the KCB Golf Series Grand Final and I would like to also try out the Mena Golf tour, but have not yet made my mind,” Anguyo said. “If I don’t play on the Mena golf tour then I might play in Zimbabwe their a few tournaments there that I will like to play in.”

Anguyo, started his golfing career in Jinja in 1997 as a caddy and amateur golfer. He also before embarking on golf was a tennis player and was once called to the Uganda National Tennis team.

“The biggest challenge that we professional golfers face is we have few competitive tournaments and that makes it difficult for us,” Anguyo lamented. “I believe we need to have us many tournaments as possible for us to improve.”

Last year Anguyo took a shot at the lucrative Mena Golf Tour playing together with his compatriot Deo Akope, but failing to make the cut. He played in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic and Abu Dhabi Citizen Open in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
