Following reports that the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has petitioned the continent’s soccer governing body alleging Zambia of using overage players in their 2-0 win over Uganda Cubs in the 2015 CAF U-17 qualifiers, local fans have reacted on facebook.

This was after Zambia Football Kick Off Magazine quoted Kawowo Sports after the story broke with impeccable sources that the player in question is Nchanga Rangers striker Patson Daka.

We pick a few comments from the Zambia fraternity in reactions to the news.

“I won’t defend Patson Daka but I would urge FUFA to pick up the said overage player and do MRI tests. If found wanting we deserve to be kicked out. I have a suggestion, the same MRI scanner must be used a week before on submitted players in the presence of representatives from both team. Boxing does it on boxers in front of PRESS cameras. It’s time soccer developed,” – Nkandu Kgosi G Mwandu.

“I am Zambian but for real, that guy can’t be 16yrs old. It’s insane.” – Abutrika Kayz

“If it’s judging by the faces and/or stature, then they all used some over age players. It’s just that I am unable to post pictures on this page, otherwise I was going to post photos of the England, Spain, Uganda, Nigeria and many more U17 players which I was looking at. They looked older than these Zambian players.” – Douglas Funda.

“Ugandans should come to Zambia and learn how we manage youth football. Failures always complain about others. Don’t fear; Zambia is not a lion.” – Webby Silwimba

“Both teams fielded older players but Uganda is angry because they lost” – Makayi Jonathan Phiri.

“A bad carpenter will always blame tools. Uganda is a small footballing nation compared to Zambia. Uganda will fall in Kampala.” – Austin Willington.

“Kalu will corrupt CAF.  He’s good at that so nothing to worry. But FAZ be careful we want clean wins.” – Malama CM III

“To be honest, Patson Daka is over 16yrs, he’s my age.” – Kalumba Kalumba
