2014 Bika Bya Baganda Football:

Tues, 16th September Result: Mmamba Ggabunga 0 (4) – 0 (3) Nvuma

Next Fixture: Wed, 17th September: Mpologoma Vs Butiko – 4 PM, Wankulukuku Stadium

Mmamba Ggabunga Clan skipper, Godfrey Wakabu saved two penalties  against Nvuma to earn his team a quarter final berth against Balangira Clan in the Bika Bya Baganda football tournament.

Wakabu’s heroics came after a barren 90 minutes of normal time played at Wankululuku stadium on Tuesday.

The towering former Express, KCC and AS Kigali goalkeeper saved off defender Habibu Kavuma and fellow goal keeper, Abdullah Kasirye’s efforts.

After a dull 90 minutes’ action in a game characterized by virtually limited goal scoring opportunities, penalties had to determine this round of 16 duel.

In the shoot outs, Mmamba Ggabunga hit the target on all the four attempts as Brian Bwete, second half substitute, Khasim Nsubuga, Yasin Kizito and Eddy Mubiru all scored.

Nvuma’s Sulah Ssebunza, Ayubu Kisaliita and Davis Kasirye were successful before Wakabu dived on his right on two occasions to save Habibu Kavuma and goalie Abduallah Kasirye’s shots to send the tense Mmamba bench into excitement.

Bika Bya Baganda action resumes on Wednesday as Mpologoma faces Butiko in a round of 16 fixture. The winner between the two will face Nkima in the quarterfinals.
