The 2010 Champions are targeting winning the championship for only their second time in history and first as Vipers SC.
Fourth last season, the Lawrence Mulindwa bankrolled side has already set sights on the championship as head coach Edward Golola asserts.
“We were unsatisfied with our performance last season and all we look up to next season is bettering that,” Golola told Kawowo Sports.
“Our main target is winning the championship but we know it won’t come easy as teams appear well prepared too,” he added.
The club has been actively involved in the pre-season featuring in a number of warm up games including a few in Tanzania where they are at the moment.
In a bid to achieve the feat, the club has re-signed former players Ibrahim Saddam Juma and Mike Mutyaba who were part of the 2010 title winning side.
In addition, former SC Villa and URA FC utility player Asuman Alishe, Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Kyambadde (snapped from Express FC), Yusuf Mukisa (from Proline FC) and Entebbe FC’s Siraje Sentamu have all signed for the club.

As their norm is, the side has also gotten players three players from secondary schools; two from St. Mary’s Kitende and one from Rinsah Standard Academy.

Player to Watch: Allan Kyambadde: Named MVP last season, Kyambadde is an attacking midfielder with a knack for scoring goals. He is energetic, pacey and skilled with the ball at his feat. He will be crucial for the club if they are to achieve their targets.
Home: Buikwe
Coach: Golola Edward:

He has been at the club long enough thus knows how things are done. Won the 2010 championship and his experience is invaluable.
Strength: Their biggest strength lies in coach Edward Golola and the financial muscle. Vipers SC is one of the few well funded clubs in the league. Besides, they have quality in the squad to torment any opponent on their day.
Weakness: So many new faces and this comes with its disadvantages. The club has let eleven members of last season’s squad got and I expect them to take time with gelling. The loss of a leader in Robert Kimuli will also affect their performance.
Prediction: Third. Edward Golola and company target the championship but I don’t see it coming this season but finishing in the top three is a possibility.
