Match Day One ( Saturday Results):

Entebbe F.C 0-1 Simba (Nakivubo)

Lweza 0-1 Victoria University (Wankulukuku)

There were opening victories for Simba and Sports Club Victoria University on the continuation of the match day one fixtures for the Uganda Premier League (UPL).

Mathew Odong’s well taken strike after 36 minutes was enough for Sports Club Victoria to bag the 3 points as they subjected new league entrants, Lweza to their first loss of the season.

In the heart of Kampala City, Entebbe football club suffered a 0-1 home loss to army side, Simba at Nakivubo Stadium.

The footballing soldiers netted from a perfectly converted Gerrald Bagoole penalty effort – that left almost the entire Entebbe F.C players and bench cursing the match day referee.

The league resumes on Tuesday with match day two fixtures.
