KCC FC vs Police FC – Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo

Kick Off: 4.30pm

Defending champions KCC FC kick start their title defence on Tuesday September 23 when they host reigning table leaders Police FC at Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

The Cops started the 2014/15 season in an excellent fashion winning 3-0 against newcomers Rwenshama FC last Friday thus sit on top of the 16 team log with three points same as SC Villa, SC Victoria University, Simba and Kira Young but they boost a better goal difference.

KCC FC assistant coach Abdallah Mubiru is aware of the challenge Angelo Lonyesi’s charges can pose but says his side is ready for battle.

“We want to start positively,” Mubiru told Kawowo Sports. “I watched they dismantle Rwenshama FC and they are very good and organised but we are more than ready to handle them,” he added.

The champions will miss the services of midfielder Tom Masiko and new signings Richard Kasagga and Paul Mucurezi (all injured) while returning Brian Umony and Rogers Lukwiya will have to pass a late fitness test to feature.

In case Umony fails the test, 2012/13 league top scorer and last campaign’s Uganda Cup top scorer Herman Wasswa who enjoys a good record against The Cops is expected the lead the line.

The ex-Masaka LC and SC Villa striker has netted four goals in his previous five games against Police FC including one in the same fixture last season.

Police FC will look to Umar Kasumba; two goal hero against Rwenshama for inspiration.
