Defending champions KCC FC will kick off the title defence minus influential midfielder Tom Masiko and defender Richard Kasagga with the duo ruled out due to injuries.
The Lugogo based side tip off their 2014/15 campaign against reigning table leaders Police FC at the Phillip Omondi stadium on Tuesday September 23.
The duo joins new signing Paul Mucurez who has also been ruled out.
“The trio has not trained with us since last week and so won’t be available for selection,” KCC FC assistant coach Abdallah Mubiru told Kawowo Sports.
Meanwhile, Mubiru also hinted that the champions may miss the services of striker Brian Umony and midfielders Rogers Lukwiya and Brian Majwega.
“Umony and Lukwiya are slightly injured and we must pass a late fitness test to play while Majwega is scheduled to travel on Monday for trials with PSL side Supersport United,” Mubiru said.
Nevertheless, the former player is adamant the available players will do the job as he hopes for a winning start.
“We have able replacements and our aim is to start well. Police FC is a good side and we must be at our best on Tuesday.”
Police FC won their opener 3-0 at home to Rwenshama FC and lead the log with a better goal difference but share same points; three with Kira Young FC, SC Victoria University, SC Villa and Simba SC.
