The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the ICC World Cricket League Division 3 which was set to take place in Kampala Uganda from October 26th-November 2nd has been moved to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia from 23rd-30th October.
The decision was reached by the ICC citing an elevation in it’s ongoing safety and security assessment due to recent developments.
The ICC Chief Executive David Richardson in the press release stressed that the safety and security of players and officials is of paramount importance to the ICC hence the decision.
On their part, the Uganda Cricket Association were disappointed but stated security is key to hosting such tournaments.
“We are disappointed but want the safety of every team involved, unfortunately, this was beyond our control.” said UCA CEO Justin Ligyalingi.
The six teams that will be competing at the event include; Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, USA, Bermuda and Uganda
