Uganda’s road map to DR Congo 2016 All Africa Games and Rio 2016 Olympics qualifiers has been revealed following a draw held in Addis Ababba.

The competitions whose age category is U-23 will see Uganda Kobs who got a bye to the second round face either Rwanda or Somalia who face off in the first round with the winner scheduled to meet giants Egypt in the third and final round.

The Kobs who played at the finals in Mozambique in 2011 will start their campaign in June/July next year and should they edge Rwanda/Somalia, they will take on the North Africans in September/October with the winner qualifying for the finals to be played in DRC Congo between December, 5-19 2015.

The preliminaries will feature 27 teams including among others neighbours Kenya and Sudan with seven teams joining hosts DR Congo from which the top three teams in DR Congo will automatically earn a ticket to represent Africa at Rio 2016 Olympics.

According to rules of the competition, only players born on or after 1st, January 1993 are eligible to represent their nations.

Uganda’s best ever performance at the All Africa Games came in 1999 when they finished fourth.
