Tony Mawejje made the Valur FC first team squad as they suffered a 4-1 home loss against table leaders FH Hafnarfjardar on Sunday evening. 

In the game that the Ugandan played full time at Vodafonevollurinn stadium, saw the hosts dominate possession and scoring first in the 17th minute, through Mar Ludviksson.

However, Valur’s lead was short-lived after Gudnason Atli equalized one minute later, before the striker scoring two more goals in the second half to walk away with a hat trick. Steven Lennon scored FH’s fourth goal. 

FH now top the 12 team table with 51 points, while Valur which beat bottomed Thor 2-0 a week ago lies fifth with 28 points after week 21 of play. 

Elsewhere, Abbey Dhaira was in full action for IBV who suffered a 2-0 home loss against Keflavik at Hasteinsvollur arena on Sunday evening. Thanks to Elias Omarsson and Frans Elvarsson goals in first and second halves respectively that sunk IBV in 9th place.

The Urvalsdeild league continues this weekend when Mawejje’s Valur travel away to 7th placed Breidablik while IBV will engage 10th Fjolnir.
