Tanzanian top lady golfer Angel Eaton will be seeking hat-trick at the Uganda Ladies Open golf championship that will tee off from October 16-18 at the par 72 Uganda Golf Club at Kitante.

“I hope to return to Uganda to defend my title, but I can’t do that unless I get a sponsor,” Eaton said recently. “I look for sponsorship to come and defend my crown.” Eaton won the event in 2012 and 2013 and will be seeking for a clean sweep, but will have to stave off her friend and rival Flavia Namakula, who last won the Open in 2011.

The mode of play is medal and has attracted golfers from Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Burundi with Kenya expected to send a team of 7 lady golfers including there Lady Golfer of the year 16 year old Naomi Wafula other lady golfers from the region include Iddy Madina Hussein from Tanzania, Sophie Reffenstein from Tanzania, Hawa Wanyeche from Tanzania, Loice Chingono from Zimbabwe, Moono Mwila from Zambia.

Uganda’s charge will be led by Flavia Namakula, Brenda Ngabo, Irene Nakalembe, Gloria Mbaguta just to mention. The Uganda Ladies Golf Union expect close to 20 foreign lady golfers for there premium golf tournament on there calendar.
