Ndejje Elites fought a hard fight against Nkumba University to make their fourth straight NSSF Volleyball League finals. After going down 3-0 in game one, Nkumba were ready to level the series 1-1.
And it didn’t take them long before they claimed a comfortable 2-0 (25-15, 25-12) set lead. For two sets, Ndejje failed to deal with Astreede Agaaba and skipper Euncie amuron.
Nkumba’s setter, Adellah Agaba seemed to be getting everything right at that moment. Come the third set, Agaaba switched off, Emuron went to bed and this was when Ndejje’s Saidat Nnungi and Christine Alupo came to the party.
Before Nkumba could think of sealing the game, Ndejje had leveled the game with 25-23 scores in both the third and fourth set. Ndejje took advantage of Nkumba’s weak middle play to penetrate and it wasn’t long before the defending champions won the tie breaker 15-12.
Nkumba 2-3 Ndejje (25-15, 25-12, 23-25, 23-25, 10-15). Ndejje first appeared in the finals in 2011, then they were defeated by Nkumba, the latter was winning their title.
Since then, Ndejje has been triumphing over KAVC to claim two league titles. Ndejje will play Vision Volleyball Camp (VVC) a side they have defeated once in as many meetings.
