Sadolin Paints 1–1 Kira Young

The Crowd trouble vice has once again hit the Uganda Premier League. Just weeks after fans led to the abandonment of the SC Villa Vs Express tie at Mityana Ssaza grounds, there was crowd violence in Jinja when Sadolin Paints hosted Kira Young F.C.

Anti–riot Police was left with no option but fire tear gas canisters in the air when rowdy fans attacked the day’s referees led by FIFA referee, Ronnie Kalema in the aftermath of Sadolin Paints’ 1 all home draw with Kira Young at Bugembe Stadium, Jinja.

After a dull goal-less draw  at half time, the match lived to its billing just seconds after restart with the home team’s goal.

Police fired in the direction of players as Kira Young’s Baker Lukooya (right) and Bright Haguma took cover

Mugabi’s tap in was as simple as a toddler learning the alphabet A.B.C – much to the delight of the home crowd.

The home crowd’s wild chants were shortly silenced when Kira Young right back drilled a low drive into the back of Sadolin Paints’ net for the equalizer.

The disallowed Sadolin Paints’ goal was root cause of all hell at Bugembe Stadium on Tuesday.

With minutes fast tracking, the home team’s efforts to restore the lead were foiled when Ronnie Kalema disallowed the would be second goal for the home team.

There was a tag of war in the run to the goal scored by Ngobi and goal keeper, Ashadu Bugembe seemed to have been fouled.

At this moment, the home fans threw mineral water bottles and stones on to the playing area but play successfully resumed until the last whistle when the fans demanded for all the match referees’ blood.

Police acted swiftly to cool the situation by firing into the air several canisters of tear gas that left players of either teams and fans alike craving for dear lives.

The result means Sadolin Paints accumulates 7 points from 7 fixtures played while Kira Young gets to 6 points in 6 games.
