New York Red Bulls got of to a “Thierrific Start” in the first leg of the Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference play-offs semi-final first leg with a 2-0 win at the Red Bull Arena in New York early this morning(East African time). 

The Red Bulls got of to a perfect start going into the return leg with a game that was inspired and spear-headed by the legendary Thierry Henry set up both goals that where scored by Dax McCarty in the 43rd minute and the other by former Olympique Lyon midfielder Peggy Luyindula in the 73rd minute in a game that also so former national skipper Ibrahim Sekagya, put up a solid performance in the central defense for his side.

The New Yorkers go into Saturday’s return leg with a 2 goal cushion and seeking to reach the finals of the Major League Soccer Conference finals, but have to keep there winning momentum on course to enable them reach that goal.

In the Western Conference semi-finals it’s all square with Dallas and Seattle Sounders all tied at 1-1 in the opening game of the first leg with the return leg set for 11 November in Seattle.
