Ahead of Uganda’s first ever international beach soccer friendly against Zanzibar on 6th December 2014, the national team coach, Harunah Kebba has summoned 17 players.

Hamuza Jjunju, the Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) official in charge of technical revealed.

     “The team is expected to travel by road and will depart Kampala on Tuesday”

The team has two goal keepers; Michael Kalule (Sand Pirates) and Nasser Rwamunda (Buwanika Bulls United).

Kampala International University’s Jeff Akawayi, Nkumba Select Skipper Douglas Muganga and MUBS’ David Kasujja are some of the 6 summoned defenders.

There are four creative players in the frame of Baker Lukooya, Johnnie Levita, Emma Kalyoowa and Saidi Mzee.

The strikers to compete for slots on the team are; Brian Nkuubi (MUBS), Phillip Lwezawula (St Lawrence University), Roch Somoka (Nkumba Select), Nicholas Kamya (Sand Pirates) and Ismail Kagingo (KIU).

Uganda is preparing for the AFCON Beach soccer championships that will take place in Seychelles next April.

Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) in conjunction with FUFA are in charge of the team.
