Toro based golfer Ronald Otile made full advantage of the home course to emerge as the best at the 2014 Mukwano open in Fort Portal.

Otile, who had jointly led day one with club mate, Denis Otim on 69 gross, had 3 birdies on holes 3,5,18 on the opening day before scoring the same number on day two on 3, 9 and 18.
Kasese based golfer, Robert Happy scored 74 and 69 over the two days to clinch the runners up slot.
The reigning Uganda Open winner, Willy Deus Kitata finished third with 146 total gross over 36 holes beating another home pair of Ronald Rugumayo and Adolf Muhumuza on count back.
Last year’s winner, Daniel Baguma, student at Mpanga Secondary School in Fort Portal could not defend his title as he was engaged in Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) examinations.
Vicent Byamukama was the overall best performing professional beating 12 other golfers.
Byamukama, alongside 6 other pro golfers who made the cut played for U.shs 4M kitty.
The golfers’ focus now switches to the annual Kakira open set for this coming weekend at the Jinja golf course found at the banks of River Nile in Jinja town.
Willy Kitata is the defending champion.
