After an average 2014 season in terms of silverware, former NSSF Volleyball League winners Nemostars have set December 1 as they day to start preparations for the 2015 season.

“Yes we start today to prepare for next season,” said skipper George Aporu. “It’s a busy season ahead, we have to play on the continent and we are planning some tours around the region so we need to be in shape,” he added.

Last season Nemostars managed three titles out of a possible 11 compared to their 2013 season which landed eight in 11 finals. One of those was the National Club Championship which earned them a ticket to play at the Africa Club Championship next season; the others were the Dr Aporu Okol International Championship and the Jinja Open.

“Year you can also say that we had a terrible seson, especailyl when we failed to win the league we were hurt, after winning our first in 2012 and defending it in 2013, we badly wanted to do a hat trick, but teams did their homework about us.” “One of the reasons we are starting early to prepare for next season is to check ourselves and improve as individuals but also as a team,” he added.

It’s not yet clear if Nemostars will be going out to the Market to buy players or concentrate on the already available players ahead of next season. The team has managed to improve on their playing staff though not so many of them got playing time last season.
