The first ever International beach soccer match for Uganda is set to take place on Sunday at the Bamboo beach Stadium on the Indian Ocean island of Bububu, Zanzibar, off Tanzania main land.

Team Skipper, Derrick Teko, goal keeper Michael Kalule, Vice captain Douglas Muganga, Davis Kasujja and striker Brian Nkuubi are the starting five cards for Uganda Sand Cranes.

“We are venturing the unknown waters since this is the first time Uganda is playing an international beach soccer match” Harunah Kebba told Kawowo Sports.

The crop of players who will later be given a run in are Ambrose Naturinda,Baker Lukooya, Latif Saidi, Roch Somoka, Ashadu Bugembe and John Revita.

“The pitch is bigger than that used at Lido in Uganda and normal running time of 12 minutes for each of the 3 qaurters will be used” Patrick Lugemwa, the team mouth piece confirms.

Uganda’s Ali Mwebe is the man in the center to officiate the historic fixture.
