Women: Indigo

Skin Samona and Indigo pool clubs successfully retained the club knock out pool titles after the closing games of the annual tourney were held at Lumas Pool Pub in Kampala on Saturday night.

Skin Samona edged Nakawa Pool Rangers 11 – 9 in the best of 20 frames in the men’s events.
Indigo on the other hand, overcame a hard fighting Capital Night team 7 – 5 in the best of 12 frames played.

“We played as a unit and it is very hard to single out individuals in this success” an elated Poulous Bisaso, captain of Skin Smona remarked.

Skin Samona, who had eliminated Spice pool club in the semi finals 21 – 9, will have to credit reigning USPA pool player of the Fahad Ssewankambo, 2014 Kampala Open winner, Alfred ‘Black Sheep’ Gumikiriza and Dan Mubiru.

In the ladies’ event, Indigo pool club, inspired by the national ladies’ team captain, Zainabu Nambafu retained the title having beaten Capital Night 7 – 5 in a closely contested duel.

Hefty Prize Money:
Both Skin Samona and Indigo,who had also won the previous year’s tournaments pocketed U.shs 1,000,000 and 500,000 respectively on top of a trophy.

For finishing second, Nakawa club took U.shs 500,000 and Capital Night bagged U.shs 250,000.

Spice beat Scrap Buyers 11 – 5 to finish third in the men’s event and bag U.shs 250,000 for the hard earned sweat.

Hot Pool ladies pool club easily dispatched Rock Catalina in a one sided encounter to take third place and pocket U.shs 150,000.

A total of 30 pool clubs participated in the 3 month knock out tournament organized by the Pool Association of Uganda (PAU).
