KCC FC missed a glorious chance to close the gap on log leaders, Vipers after losing 3-2 to URA FC in a Uganda Premier League game played at Mehta grounds, Lugazi.
URA FC started brightly bossing possession and creating havoc for the visitors’ back line with the reward coming in the 10th minute when Patrick Ochan gave them a deserved lead.
Ochan played a one two with Robert Ssentongo before the former tapped home from close range.
Despite outplaying KCC FC, the tax men failed to extend their lead and they were punished at the stroke of half time when Umony netted the equalizer.
The ex-Azam FC striker made good control of Sakka Mpiima’s ball down the right flank before he made a turn to slot home.
KCC FC’s happiness however didn’t last a minute after the break as Ssentongo ensured they regained their lead after a howler from goalie Emmanuel Opio.
In the 49th minute, Masaba converted from the spot after Ayub Kizza handled James Kasibante’s cross to make it 3-1 to Alex Isabirye’s charges.
This prompted Abdallah Mubiru to make changes with Owen Kasule and later Herman Wasswa coming on for William Wadri and Hakim Ssenkumba respectively but it wasn’t until the 90th minute that KCC FC got a life line when Habib Kavuma was fouled in the area with Umony completing a brace for his 7th goal of season.
The loss leaves KCC second on the table with 24 points while URA FC now goes on 20 points in 5th.
