CAF Champions League finalists AS Vita of DR Congo are interested in signing Ugandan defender Denis Iguma Kawowo Sports has learnt.

The SC Victoria University versatile player caught the attention of the Congo side after his impressive performances for The Cranes in the recently failed 2015 AFCON qualifiers campaign.

Iguma hasn’t played competitive football in awhile after falling out with his club’s management and even went on to miss Cranes’ final two games against Ghana and Guinea.

The move if it materializes will come to the rescue of a player who is looking for a career away from SCVU.

In case he signs, he will become the sixth Ugandan to play in DR Congo.

The rest are Yunus Sentamu (AS Vita), Godfrey Walusimbi (CS Don Bosco), Patrick Ochan, Mike Mutyaba (TP Mazembe) and Yuda Mugalu (DCM Pembe)
