Forty one-year old Nason Bwesigye will take over from Anthony Ndawula as new national team coach after being appointed by the Uganda Volleyball Federation on Tuesday after in Kampala.

Bwesigye who was unveiled to the media with his assistants Hannington Nsubuga and Luke Eitit talked about the challenge ahead especially felling the shoes of his predecessor.

“Am stepping into Anthony Ndawula’s shoes and I accept those are very huge shoes for me to fit,” Bwesigye said.

“His truck record as a coach is so rich but I want to thank the federation for entrusting me with this task, I will try to give it my best,” he added.

Bwesigye whose coaching career dates back to 1998 with Progressive SS, he has been with Sport-S from 1999 to 2006 winning 38 National competitions; including 3 League Trophies and 2 national Clubs Trophies.

The level three coaching certificate holder has been in charge of the Uganda Christian University-Doves Volleyball Club since 2002 to date winning 17 National competitions, including one national clubs trophy.

Bwesigye has been part of the national team technical team since 2003 to date; trainer of national team between 2003 and 2008, he was also coached the boy’s national junior side since 2008.
