URA FC 1-0 Azam FC

Emmanuel Ngama came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as URA FC condemned visitors Azam FC to their second loss in as many friendlies.

The Tanzania champions lost to SC Villa 3-2 on Sunday at Nakivubo on their first attempt and failed to break down a resilient URA FC side at Phillip Omondi stadium.

Alex Isabirye gave a number of fringe players an opportunity in the starting XI but they still put up a brilliant show to deny John Omog’s side.

Frank Kalanda wasted the best opportunity of the first half that saw each side create less when he failed to tap home Erukana Nkugwa’s cross with the goal at his mercy.

Azam bossed possession and played with purpose for most parts with Kipre Bolou and Khamis Mcha Khamis dictating play but the attacking line led by Kipre Tche Tche and Burundian striker Didier Kavumbagu failed to beat the URA FC back-line that had Ronald Sseku and Deo Otieno at the heart of it.

Majwega Debut:

It was a game that saw former KCC FC winger Brian Majwega also make his debut for Azam coming on for Khamis Mcha Khamis in the second half.
