Ghana’s national football coach, Avram Grant has on Wednesday named the Black Stars’ Provisional squad that will be used for the January’s Africa Cup of Nations finals in Equatorial Guinea.

Gifted left footed midfielder, Sulley Muntari and Kevin-Prince Boateng, two suspended players during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil are missing from the team.

Reports from Ghana indicate that Muntari, who features for Italian Serie A side, AC Milan has since refused to apologize after a nasty bust up with a top official during the World Cup.

Rock solid midfielder, Michael Essien and goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey are the other prominent figures missing from the 31 man squad.

Frank Acheampong, who features for Anderlecht in the European Champions League is one of the new faces on the team.

Chicago Fire’s David Accam, T.P Mazembe’s Solomon Asante, Lorinte’s Jordan Ayew, goalie Adams Steven (Aduana Stars) and AIK Stockholm’s Ibrahim Moro are some of the players on the provisional list that will be trimmed to 23 by the end of the first week of January.

The Black Stars are pooled in group C alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa.

They will be based in the Mongomo city and open up their campaign against Senegal on January 19th before playing Algeria on the 23rd and wind up the group games on 27th January against South Africa.
