Demba Ba has questioned being left out of the Senegal Africa Cup of Nations provisional squad ahead of the tournament that gets underway on 17 January in Equatorial Guinea.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle United striker expressed his anger on Twitter calling for the national team coach Alain Giresse to explain why he was left out despite having scored 16 goals in 19 appearances for his current club so far this season.
“I can’t wait to hear his excuses and destroy them one by one,” the Besiktas striker posted on his Twitter account.
“The coach called and said that I needed to rest and take care of my ankle. It feels strange to me as I am completely fit and able to play football,” the 29 year old told a Senegalese publication.
“If Alain Giresse wanted to include me, he would have done so as he knows that my ankle is completely fine,” he added.
Meanwhile the French coach of the Congolese national team Claude Le Roy has tipped the Senegalese lions to win the showpiece.
The outfit begins preparations in Dakar on Friday 2 January 2015 before moving to El Jadida, Morocco on Wednesday 7 January, the same day the coach will reveal his final 23 man squad.
Senegal will play in the hardest group in this competition . They will have to face Ghana , Algeria and South Africa.
