The oldest club in East Africa Entebbe Club, is seeking for different venues for there golf calendar as they will be closing there 18 hole course to develop it into a championship course for a period of 9 months.
The lakeside course is set to close between May and June after the club’s members, trustees and executive decide this month when to close the course to develop it into a championship course.
“We are in talks with Palm Valley Golf and Country Club together with Lake Victoria Serena Resort in Kigo, to host our activities when we close our course for development, but we shall go with the club that gives us a better deal,” Oscar Semawere, the captain of Entebbe Club said on phone. “Our calendar will not change and we shall continue with the activities that we have hosted before.”

The Entebbe Club will also be put up a magnificent club house that will have a swimming pool, tennis and basketball course, two state of the art themed bars, rooms, a conference hall, a health spa, gym and changing rooms.
The oldest club in East Africa will become the second course in the country to up-grade to a championship status course after the golf fraternity inaugurated the 18 hole Garuga Golf Club in Kihiihi, Kanungu District last month after completion the course will be able to host international tournaments like the prestigious Sunshine Golf Tour and other major international tournaments in the future.
