Ahead of next month’s CAF 2015 beach soccer qualifiers, Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is desperately seeking for a hosting venue.

The development follows the recent draws that pitted Uganda against Cameroon in the first round of the qualifiers.

It has emerged that Lido beach, which has been used for hosting the National league engagements does not have the required full size (standard) field of play as Ali Mwebe, FUFA Competitions Manager told Kawowo Sports.

We are looking for a hosting venue and we shall communicate to CAF and the media as soon as we get it

Uganda Sand Cranes has landed a tough draw where they will have to skip two West African nations if they are to make it to the April 2015 final tournament in Seychelles.

Uganda faces Cameroon in the first round in a two legged affair in February 2015 with the winner playing Ghana for the available slot in the finals.

Alternate Venue:
FUFA is in a rush to look for the hosting venue with the first option being Entebbe Sports Beach as Mwebe explains,

Sports beach is spacious and we have already approached the facility owners for a way out.

Ninteen teams will be engaged in the qualification matches over the two rounds.
Nine teams have been exempted from the first round qualifiers basing on their participation in the 2013 Championships which was hosted in Jadida, Morocco as well as their official ranking.

The 9 are; Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Madagascar, Libya, South Africa and Uganda’s likely second round opponent, Ghana.

First Round Draws:
Uganda plays Cameroon, Tunisia plays Mali, Sudan entertains Djibouti and Mauritius engages Mozambique before the East African derby of Kenya versus Tanzania.

Second Round fixtures:
Ivory coast awaits the winner of Kenya/Tanzania, Morocco will play the winner from Sudan vs Djibouti, Tunisia is booked for the winner of Mali Vs Senegal, Madagasacar Vs South Africa, Nigeria Vs Libya and Ghana awaits the winner of Uganda Vs Cameroon.

Uganda Sand Cranes technical team is yet to name the squad likely to take part in the qualifiers nor communicate the training schedule.
