Uganda Sports Press Association Male Golfer of the year 2013, 2014 Willy Deus Kitata, has set his eyes on the 54-hole Sigona Bowl that tees off on January 16-17 at the Sigona Golf Club.
“I am looking forward to play in this tournament and I hope to return victorious this time around,” Kitata said before departing. “I am using this as a good build-up ahead of the national qualifiers.”
The Entebbe based golfer has just been voted by sports scribes as the Male golfer of the year for a second year running having previous won the award in 2013.
“I feel honoured to be voted once again as the golfer of the year and that will motivate me more to win more awards,” the Uganda Open 2014 winner said. “Last year was a good year for me though I never got the opportunity to be part of Team Uganda that won the East African Challenge I felt disappointed, but was happy that the national team won the tournament at home.”
Kitata last year won the Uganda Open win on sudden death play-off with national team compatriot Adolf Muhumuza, from Fort Portal.
