In preparation for his comeback into rallying, Kuku Ranjit launched his new Mitsubishi EVO9 yesterday at the Moil petrol station, Banda.

Ranjit who last featured in EVO4 formerly owned by Kenyan’s Lee Rose in 2006 and his last rally was 2006 Alpha Pearl of Africa rally, will return in a more powerful machine after many years without rallying.

He will share the cockpit with Sayeed Kadri (the late Kurji’s navigator). He shared with Kawowo why he made a comeback in the Evo9,

I retired at a very early stage when i was doing so good, i want to start rally again to check myself in a powerful car and to have fun.

Ranjit confessed that with the EVO9 and Sayeed Kadri in the co-driver’s seat, he fears no one in the competition and he urges his fans to be ready for action packed come Mbarara rally.

ABOUT THE EVO9

It was bought from the KG Motorsports United kingdom by Kenya’s Authman brothers.

It has done only two rallies in Kenya, that is 2014 Safari rally and Guru Nanak.

If it is to register a first podium finish it will be by the hands of Ranjit.

The question is, will Ranjit after so many years without rallying manage the tight competition with the young ambitious blood?
