After losing 2-0 to Gabon in their opener, Burkina Faso will seek redemption when they face hosts Equatorial Guinea at Estadio de Bata on Wednesday afternoon.

The Stallions who reached last edition’s finals losing 1-0 to Nigeria will become the first side to exit the tourney if they fail to earn at least a point from this fixture.

Paul Put’s side have a poor second game record in the AFCON having won just once in nine fixtures since 1978.

Meanwhile, Equatorial Guinea tactician Esteban Becker is under pressure to keep the hosts in the tournament but will draw inspiration from the fact the last 12 hosts and co-hosts of the this tournament have reached the last eight.

Burkina Faso will look to Jonathan Pitroipa, Charles Kabore, Alain and Bertrand Traore plus Aristide Bance for inspiration.
