The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed changes in the venues to host the 2015 Africa Nations Cup quarter finals.
This was announced in a statement released by CAF on Wednesday.
Equatorial Guinea’s tie against Tunisia will now be played at Estadio de Bata instead of Ebebiyin with the quarter final between Group C winners and Group D runners up from Mongomo to Malabo.
The two pitches (in Ebebiyin and Mongomo) have been adversely affected by combination of wear and tear from the six games played or to be played in each of them and the unstable weather conditions seen lately.
The eight teams qualified for the quarter-final stages onwards should be given the opportunity to play on grounds that provide the highest standards, specifically those of Bata and Malabo, to ensure the quality of play remains at the highest possible level.
CAF also noted that there has there has been security fears at Ebebiyin
