Cote d’Ivoire welcome back striker Gervinho and midfielder Cheikh Tiote as they take on Algeria in the last quarter final of the 2015 Africa Nations Cup.

The AS Roma forward has missed the Elephants two previous fixtures against Mali and Cameroon following a straight red card against Guinea on day one while Tiote was suspended for the Indomitable Lions duel.

The duo’s return is expected to bolster what is arguably Africa’s most talented squad ahead of their sternest test against the most ranked nation on the continent.

The Desert Foxes will still be without striker Sliman Islam but Yacine Brahim is likely to feature despite coming off against Senegal.

Ivory Coast reached the last eight after a 1-0 victory over Cameroon in the last game thanks to Maxi Gradel wonder goal while Algeria beat Senegal’s Lions of Teranga 2-0 in their penultimate group C game.

The two nations have met six times in AFCON finals with each winning twice and two draws with the latest being a quarter final clash in 2010 which Algeria won 3-2 after extra time despite Elephants taking a 2-1 lead.

The winner will face DR Congo who came from two goals down to beat neighbours Congo Brazzaville 4-2 in the first quarter final.
