Debutant, Henry Ssenkubuge and Andrew Basooma struck in the opening 45 minutes to propel Uganda Premier League club, Sadolin Paints F.C to a 2-0 victory over FUFA Big league side, Kirinya/Jinja S.S at the latter’s home ground in Jinja town on Thursday.
We took our chances early and I am impressed by the victory though there was a chance to add to the goals later in the second half
Sadolin Paints’ head coach, Samadu Musafiri told Kawowo Sports shortly after the game.
The home side started the game without the services of loyal servants, Allan Drajuwa, Nasur Aseni and the injured Gerald Masette.
It was the visiting side that dominated in possession for long spells and this was soon reflected with the short crispy passing philosophy.
The D-moment arrived in the 28th minute when January window signing, Henry Ssenkubuge’s perfectly weighted chip was connected by Andrew Basooma past Joel Mukakubwa in Jinja s.s’ goal for the opener.
Basooma nearly made it two five minutes later but his low drive hot the lower goal post after a telling delivery from the left wing by Dan Ekunyu.
Yunus Kasozi, another latest club’s signing crossed for Henry Ssenkubuge for the visitor’s second goal and final goal of the game.
Both teams made several changes after the half hour mark.
Sadolin Paints F.C got closet with skipper Allan Oryek’s curling free kick hitting the woodwork barely 15 minutes on to the game death.
