From hero to villain was what Robert Ssentongo turned into as URA defeated Elgeco Plus 1-0 in the first preliminary round of the Caf Confederations Cup second leg played in Madagascar on Saturday afternoon.

Ssentongo gave URA the lead as early as 4 minutes but ten minutes from time he was shown marching orders by the match day official.

The win ensures that the 2014 Uganda Cup holders advance to the next round 4-2 on aggregate after winning the first leg 3-2 in Kampala a fortnight ago.

Ssentongo will miss the first leg of the second preliminary round against Orlando Pirates from South Africa. The striker becomes the second player to be sent off in this tie after Jonathan Mugabi was also shown red in the first leg.

URA then conceded two penalties and where lucky for Oscar Agaba to remain on the field of play after he gave away the second penalty.

URA started with Brian Bwete in goal, Samuel Ssekitto, Simeon Masaba, Allan Munaaba and Sam Ssekomi in defense. Deo Othieno, Agaba, Ali Feni, Said Kyeyune and Yasser Mugerwa were the midfielders playing behind Ssentongo.

Coach Alex Isabirye later brought on Kasibante for Sekitto and Erukana Nkugwa for Kyeyune. Agaba and Mugerwa are the other URA players who were also cautioned.
